T he Emery GT, introduced in 1963, was the first kit car to be based on the Rootes Group’s Hillman Imp, also launched in the UK that year. The Emery’s glassfibre fixed-head coupé body was attached to a steel spaceframe chassis.[1]

The Imp engine was fitted at the rear, but a Ford engine was optional.[2]
