1921 Atomette

The Atomette is a three-wheeled cyclecarSmall, inexpensive automobile that filled the gap in the market between the motorcycle and the car. manufactured by Allan Thomas in Cleveland Street, Wolverhampton from 1921 until 1922. The original model had a single seat, but a two-seater version was introduced in 1922.[1]

The car was powered by an air-cooled 343 cc Villiers two-stroke engine, driving the single rear wheel by belt via a chain-driven Burman three-speed gearbox.[1][2]

With a claimed top speed of 30 miles per hour (48 km/h),[1] the Atomette was offered in grey, blue or green, and was priced at 90 guineas, equivalent to £5,250 as at 2024.[2][a]Calculated using the retail price index.[3]
