The clock tower in the heart of the Triangle shopping centre in Clevedon, Somerset, was presented to the town in 1898 by the inventor and studio potter Sir Edmund Elton, to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria the previous year.[1] It was designated a Grade II listed buildingStructure of particular architectural and/or historic interest deserving of special protection. in 1976.[2]

The tower is built of coursed rubble with ashlarMasonry of squared and finely cut or worked stone, commonly used for the facing of a building. dressings, divided into three storeys by bands with coloured and patterned Elton Ware tiles.[1][2] It has projecting eaves and a tiled pyramidal roof topped by a weathervane. There is a round clock face to each side of the upper storey, and a recessed arch at the bottom contains a drinking fountain.[2]
