Coneyhurst Cutting is a 0.15-hectare (0.37 acres) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest, northwest of the village of Coneyhurst in West Sussex. It comprises a limestone embankment revealed during the cutting of the A272 road. About 0.43 metres (1.41 ft) thick, it consists of the Paludina Limestone bed of the Lower Weld Clay Formation, formed 130 million years ago.[1]
Large three-dimensional shells of Paludina (Viviparus), a freshwater snail, have been discovered at the site.[1][2]
