The Britannia is a cyclecar
Small, inexpensive automobile that filled the gap in the market between the motorcycle and the car. made from 1913 to 1914 by the Britannia Engineering Co., based in Nottingham.[1]
As standard, the car was powered by an air-cooled, two-cylinder, two-stroke engine, but alternative engines could be fitted according to the customer’s choice. The rear wheels were driven by a four-speed gearbox via a belt final drive. The car was offered for sale at £85, equivalent to £10,500 as at 2024.[1][a]Calculated using the retail price index.[2]
