Carminow Cross is an early medieval round-headed stone cross discovered in a hedge in the late 19th century, and moved to its present location in the centre of a roundabout near Bodmin, Cornwall on the A38 road in 1977. It may originally have served as a boundary marker,[1] or a preaching cross.[2] The shaft and plinth supporting the cross are modern additions. As restored, it stands 14 ft (4 m) high.[1]
The cross is a designated Grade II* listed buildingStructure of particular architectural and/or historic interest deserving of special protection..[2]
