The ceremonialArea with an appointed Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff to represent the monarch's interest. and metropolitan county of Merseyside is comprised of five metropolitan boroughs: Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.[1]
