Moor Crag is a Grade I listedStructure of particular architectural and/or historic interest deserving of special protection. house near Bowness-on-Windermere, in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria. Designed by the architect C. F. A. Voysey and built in 1898–1900, it is considered to be one of his finest houses, and “one of the most important of its date in Europe”.[1]
The house was built as a holiday home for the textile manufacturer J. W. Buckley of Altrincham, Cheshire;[2] its landscaped gardens were designed by Thomas Mawson.[3]
Moor Crag’s coach house is a separately designated Grade II listed building.[4]
