Relativity is a lithograph by the Dutch artist M. C. Escher (1898–1972), created in 1953.[1] One of his most popular works, it depicts a series of staircases connected in an impossible way, in a shape known as the Penrose triangle

The picture shows human beings occupying three different planes of existence, each with different conceptions of what is horizontal and what is vertical. But without any knowledge of the other’s existence, they are able to share the use of the same staircase.[1]
Relativity has influenced many other artistic endeavours, including the films Labyrinth (1986) and Inception (2010).[3]
