Crewe Drill Hall is a former Army Reserve Centre, built in 1937. Designed in the Moderne style, it is constructed of brown brick with moulded brick and concrete decoration and has a slate roof. It was designated a Grade II listed buildingStructure of particular architectural and/or historic interest deserving of special protection. in 2016, in recognition of it being a “well-detailed example of the Moderne style … and a relatively unusual application of the style to a purpose-built drill hall”.[1]

The building consists of a two-storey administrative and domestic block at the west, a hall to the east, a separate garage, and a single-storey rifle range. The west face is symmetrical with a hipped roof, overhanging eaves, and it contains steel-framed windows with horizontal glazing bars. On the north front are two similar entrance portals, with narrowing doorways approached by flights of six splayed steps.[1]

In 2023 Cheshire East Council approved plans to convert the administration and accommodation block into assisted shared living accommodation for military veterans, to live in as temporary accommodation as part of their rehabilitation after leaving the Army.[2]
