Barn Hill Meadows is an 8.6-hectare (21.3 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in the East Riding of Yorkshire, just west of the town of Howden.[1]

The site lies on the flood plain of the Old Derwent river, and is important for its herb-rich, unimproved, neutral grassland. It comprises seven fields, which have been traditionally managed for hay, and some of which have retained their original ridge and furrow features. The dominant grasses are red fescue (Festuca rubra) and sweet vernal-grass (Anthoxanthum odoratum), but there is also an abundance of great burnet (Sanguisorba officinalis), along with pepper saxifrage (Silaum silaus) and meadow cranes bill (Geranium pratense).[1]
