A kneeler, also known as a knee-stone, is the angled, approximately triangularly faced masonry at the foot of a gable, cut to carry the gable coping.[1][2]

The term is also used to describe the piece of furniture used for resting in a kneeling position during Christian prayer. In recent times it has also been applied to cushions intended to protect the knees during kneeling.[3]
