It consists of two districts, Tabley Superior and Tabley Inferior,[1] also known as Nether Tabley.[2] As at the 2021 census the population of Tabley Superior was 368,[3] and that of Tabley Inferior 139.[4]
The name derives from the the Old English Tæbba and lēah, meaning “Tæbba’s clearing”.[5]
