Built as a hearse houseBuilding used to house the horse-drawn carriages that carried the deceased to their funerals. in about 1833, the Grade II listed buildingStructure of particular architectural and/or historic interest deserving of special protection. has been converted into an electricity sub-station.[1]
The rectangular, single-storey building, is constructed in red sandstone, with a later blue quarry tile roof. The wide door opening onto the street has a semi-circular arch with a keystone.[1]
